Tomato Jam

Savory-sweet tomato jam made with delicate Ciao Italian Whole Peeled Tomatoes—rich, unique flavor that makes the perfect addition to any dish.

Ingredients

1 Small Red Onion, about 1 cup, finely chopped
1 Tablespoon Apple Cider Vinegar
2 Tablespoons Light Brown Sugar
1 Tablespoon Granulated Sugar
½ Teaspoon Salt
¼ Teaspoon Smoked Paprika
¼ Teaspoon Red Pepper Flakes
⅛ Teaspoon Cumin
⅛ Teaspoon Ginger

Instructions

  1. In a sauté pan over medium-low heat, add Olitalia Extra Virgin Olive Oil and finely chopped onions. Cook for about 8 minutes.
  2. Place a 28 oz can of Ciao Italian Whole Peeled Tomatoes in a large bowl and crush the tomatoes by hand. Then add the crushed tomatoes, vinegar, both sugars, salt, smoked paprika, red pepper flakes, cumin, and ginger.
  3. Cook for 25–30 minutes, until thickened.
  4. Allow to cool completely, then store in a mason jar in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.
  5. Enjoy on toast, a charcuterie board, grilled cheese, focaccia, and more!
