What are does DOP mean?
DOP means "Protected Designation of Origin." It's a geographical indication in Europe that verifies that a product originates and is produced in a geographical location and complies with product specifications. All DOP items carry a seal that is issued by the European Union (EU). The seal is typically red and yellow and can be found on the side of our labels! In Italy, San Marzano tomatoes must adhere to strict guidelines regarding where and how they are grown and processed.
