Chana Masala

Enjoy the rich and authentic flavors of Ciao Tomatoes in this Chana Masala recipe. Perfectly sweet and ripened, these tomatoes are slowly simmered with chickpeas and warm spices to create a truly comforting dish.

Ingredients

1 Yellow Onion, diced
2 Cans Chickpeas, strained
1 Tablespoon Ginger, grated
7 Garlic Cloves, grated
2 Teaspoons Curry Powder
2 Teaspoons Garam Masala
1 Teaspoon Salt
1 Cup Coconut milk
1 Cup Water
½ Cup Parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. In a medium sauté pan, add Olitalia Extra Virgin Olive Oil and diced yellow onion until golden brown, then add grated garlic and ginger.
  2. Next, add curry powder, garam masala, and continue to sauté until fragrant and incorporated.
  3. Crush your Ciao Italian Whole Peeled Tomatoes by hand and add them into the pan, stirring to combine.
  4. Add your chickpeas, coconut milk, water and boil gently for 30 minutes on low heat.
  5. Serve in a bowl with fine chopped parsley and enjoy!

Notes:

  • These spice levels will result in a mild Chana Masala, feel free to add more or less spice depending on your preference!
